The Owen Gun Chronological Bibliography and Catalogue of Memorabilia and Published Document Alan Stein & Michael Organ 28 October 2008 The following is an edited version of Alan Stein’s original listing as distributed to various libraries and archives during October 2008. It was the result of decades of research by the then 84 year old Mr. Stein. The list has here been rearranged chronologically, plus all dates standardised along with author citations. Five Islands Press List of Publications 1988 - 2010 Compiled by Susan Jones, Library, University of Wollongong Introduction Five Islands Press was formed in Wollongong during 1987 by Ron Pretty of the University of Wollongong as a vehicle for the publication of Australian poetry and short stores. It has continued in print since that date, following a move of its operations to Victoria in 2005. Ron Pretty ran the Poetry Australia Foundation and was director of Five Islands Press until he retired in 2007. He taught creative writing at the University of Wollongong and University of Melbourne and edited the literary journals ‘SCARP’ and ‘Blue Dog: Australian Poetry’. His book of poetry, ‘Postcards From the Centre’ was published in 2010. Copies of Five Island Press publications can be found in public collections such as the National Library of Australia, the State Library of New South Wales and libraries at the University of Wollongong and Wollongong City Council.
